5 Day Rwanda wildlife safari takes visitors visiting Akagera national park for wildlife viewing and Boat ride along river Ihema and trekking with mountain gorillas in the Virunga volcanoes national park of Rwanda.
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park
Your Wildlife tour into Rwanda will start off with an early morning pick up by our company tour guide from either your hotel or airport and hit the road to Akagera national park – this is Rwanda’s only wildlife national park managed by African park. You will reach in time for lunch after which have an afternoon game drive wth beautiful views of wildlife like lions, roan antelopes, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, reedbuck and so much more. Day 2: Boat Ride – Transfer back to Kigali for City tour
Wake up for a beautiful breakfast at you hotel and after head out for a boat ride along river Ihema. The boat ride will reward with beautiful views of water animals like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants etc. return to your hotel for lunch and later set off for Kigali. On arrival, you will have a city tour you to visit the Gisozi genocide memorial site, local markets. Dinner and overnight Kigali Serena hotel (luxury),
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National park – Vists Twin Lake of Burera & Ruhondo
Wake up to a worm breakfast at your hotel and get ready for a long drive to Volcanoes national park – home of the rare endangered mountain gorillas. On arrival, have lunch and in the afternoon visit the twin lakes of Burera and ruhondo. Dinner and Overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Midrange), Muhabura Hotel (Basic)
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking – Ibyiwacu cultural village
Wake up early for a quick cup of coffee at your hotel and with a packed snuck from your hotel, drive to the Kinigi park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking do’s and don’ts. These are important rules set to protect the health of both visitors and mountain gorillas. You have a chance to decide to go for a hard, medium or simple trek depending on your physical ability. Trekking for gorilla in Rwanda usually last 2 – 7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.
A head guide will escort you into the forest plus an armed guard in search for your gorilla group. Once you meet the gorillas, you are allowed 1 hour with the gentle giants. After trekking descend back to the park head offices where you will meet you guide to drive you to your hotel for lunch. In the evening, go out for a cultural experience at the Ibyiwacu cultural village.Dinner and overnight at Hotel of Day 3
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali for city tour – Departure
Have breakfast at your hotel and be ready to transfer back to Kigali. If you missed a city tour on Day 1, you will have the city tour before drop off at either airport or hotel in Kigali.
