1 Day gorilla Trekking Rwanda

1 Day gorilla tour Rwanda takes you to Volcanoes national park is located 1-2 hours drive from Kigali the country’s capital to Kinigi park headquarters in Musanze district. The early morning drive requires you to set off as early as 5:30 am driving you through smooth roads in the cold morning with beautiful views of the Volcanic mountains of Sabyinyo, Karisimbi and Bisoke.

All visitors are required to be at the Kinigi park offices with your gorilla permit where you will meet your guide who will explain to you the etiquette and useful trekking tips when going trekking through dense bamboo forest between the Kisoke and Karisimbi volcanoes.

After your briefing, you will drive to your respective group starting points, at this point you have the option to hire a porter. As you hike to find your gorilla group, your guide is at your disposal to answer all your questions. The hike can get steep, muddy and wet in areas and challenging walking at times on the pressed bamboo sections. When you meet the gorillas, you have 1 hour to watch, photograph them. Always follow your guide’s instructions.

Once done, return back to the park headquarters where you will meet your guide to transfer you back to Kigali for drop off at either your hotel or airport.

3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking

3 Day trip to visit Gorillas and Golden Monkeys in Rwanda – Virunga volcano region of Volcanoes National Park. Volcanoes National Park is part of the great Virunga Volcano Conservation region spanning to cover Virunga national park Congo and Mgahinga national park Uganda. DAY 1:KIGALI TOUR – DRIVE TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Set off early morning from your hotel or pick up from the airport by our company tour guide. Depending on pick up time, you will have a half day tour of Kigali city, a nice way to learn and get familiar with Rwanda. The tour will take you to visit the Gisozi genocide memorial site, local markets, later have lunch and drive to Volcanoes national park, Musanze province. Driving time to Volcanoes national park is 2 – 3 hours.

Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge(Luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge(Midrange), Muhabura Hotel (Basic)

 

 

DAY 2: GORILLA TREKKING – IBYIWACU CULTURAL VILLAGE

Wake up early for breakfast at your hotel and with a packed snack from your hotel, drive to the Kinigi park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking do’s and don’ts. These are important rules set to protect the health of both visitors and mountain gorillas. You have a chance to decide to go for a hard, medium or simple trek depending on your physical ability. Trekking for gorilla in Rwanda usually last 2 – 7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. A head guide will escort you into the forest plus an armed guard in search for your gorilla group. Once you meet the gorillas, you are allowed 1 hour with the gentle giants. After trekking descend back to the park head offices where you will meet you guide to drive you to your hotel for lunch. In the evening, go out for a cultural experience at the Ibyiwacu cultural village.

DAY 3: GOLDEN MONKEY TRACKING – DEPARTURE

 Just Like Trekking for gorillas, golden monkey tracking and Dian Fossey tomb hike takes place at volcanoes national park, starting with briefing at the Kinigi headquarters and then driving to the trekking head trail where you begin your hike. Return to your hotel for lunch and in the afternoon transfer to transfer back to Kigali for drop off at either airport or hotel in Kigali.

3 Day Gorilla Safari Uganda

Gorilla trek in Uganda for 3 Days to Bwindi forest national park starting and ending in Kampala Uganda. Its possible for visitors to visit Bwindi forest from Kitgali with just 4 hours drive from Kigali crossing into Uganda and driving to Bwindi forest.

Trekking for Gorillas in Bwindi forest takes visitors to watch any of the 12 habituated gorilla families. Bwindi is home to over 500 gorilla species, which is half of the entire mountain gorilla population.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Your tour begins early morning with pick up by our company tour guide. Set off early morning for a long drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest. Driving time to Bwindi from Kampala is 8-10 hours with en route stops at the equator, Igongo cultural village and have lunch in Mbarara. Continue with your drive to Bwinfi forest reaching late evening. Dinner and overnight at Ruhija Lodge (Luxury), Bakiga Lodge / gorilla Mist camp (Midrange / Budget)

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Batwa pygmies visit
Your day begins with an early cup of coffee and your guide will drive you to the Bwindi park head quarters where all visitors going for gorilla trekking gather for briefing about conduct / behavior when you meet your gorilla family. Trekking for gorilla in Uganda usually last 2 – 7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. A head guide will escort you into the forest plus an armed guard in search for your gorilla group. Once you meet the gorillas, you are allowed 1 hour with the gentle giants. After trekking descend back to the park head offices where you will meet you guide to drive you to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, have a Batwa pygmies cultural experience. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Departure
Have breakfast at your hotel and be ready to transfer back to Kampala with en route stopover in Mbarara town for Lunch.
